Location & Access

Our folk Baroque–style residential building is located on the main street of Gönc, a town with a rich historical heritage, at 3895 Gönc, Kossuth Lajos Street 85, in the historic part of the settlement characterized by its unique architectural layout.

According to data from January 2026, Gönc is a small town with a population of 1,889 and serves as the administrative center of the Gönc District in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. The town is situated approximately 65 kilometers northeast of the county seat, Miskolc, close to the Slovak border, in the Hernád Valley on the left bank of the river.

The settlements directly bordering Gönc are Zsujta to the north, Telkibánya to the east, Fony to the southeast, Göncruszka to the south, Hernádszurdok to the west, and Hidasnémeti and Tornyosnémeti to the northwest.

Gönc, and in particular the building of the Huszita House in its role as a regional cultural and public collection center, is most easily accessible from more distant parts of the country via the two most important road transport routes of the region: The museum is located in the historic center of Gönc, on the town’s main street, at 85 Kossuth Lajos Street, 3895 Gönc, Hungary.

Gönc lies approximately 65 km northeast of Miskolc, close to the Slovak border, in the Hernád Valley.

The town is easiest to reach by car via Main Road No. 3 or the M30 motorway. From these main routes, Gönc can be accessed via secondary roads: Road No. 3713 from Abaújkér and Vizsoly, Road No. 3708 from Hidasnémeti or Telkibánya, and Road No. 3709 from Zsujta.
